Can anyone explain the proper way to tie a double hook
worm harness? What type of knott to use and so on.
I want to make my own trolling set ups for Walleye and trout.

Not sure what you mean by a double hook worm harness. Are you just looking for two hooks on the same leader similar to what would be used with a cut herring leader? If so, you could tie your first hook (at the end of the leader) on with a snell knot, then another hook however far up the leader you want it with another snell knot. Or you could tie a snell on the first hook (at the end of the leader) with a palomar knot however far up the leader you want it. HTH

Edit- Ok just googled the worm harness. The ones I saw are similar to to the herring leader...you could just tie the snell in the end hook and another snell however far up the line you want it. Looks like that should work. Someone else may have a better plan than that though.

Thank you, I'll try the snell knot.

I decided to try out the knots myself to see how difficult they are to tie up. The snell knot ended up being a PITA...I ended up using two egg loop knots and seemed to work fine. Was much easier to tie at least. I used (2) two egg salmon hooks, two egg loop knots and pulled and tugged on each hook as hard as I could and didn't seem to bother either knot. It appears to be fairly solid. HTH

I'll agree. The salmon egg-loop knot should work great as the tag-end is not moved at all during the knot tying. Just make sure you have the proper amount of loops through the eye of the hook before tying (i made that mistake a few times in a row tying wedding rings).

Okay, I'm gonna need to google the salmon egg loop knot.
Once I see the diagram I'll be able to tie it. Then
I'll teach my Father-in-law how to tie them.

Someone once showed me how to tie two hooks using a Dropper Loop. Just thread on a hook that would face the right way depending on how you wanted to present it and proceed to tie the knot (the hook ends up on the loop). Then, tie the hook to the end. This was cool cause the hook stands out from the line. The link goes to a cool site that has animated (well, sort if) diagrams of how to tie the knots. Although, it doesn't have the egg loop knot.

I've also set up something simular to what you want using a palomar knot, but the hook will stick out instead of being parallel with the line.
