Paper reports Trout up to 20" in Goodwin
I have fished it before but never had that kind of luck. Trolling, sitting ... Nothing. I have had some luck but not like the Tribune reported.
Anyone else?

maybe a triploid if WDFW has planted any, but hold-overs? Hmmmm
Re: Paper reports Trout up to 20" in Goodwin
I've seen fish like that in Goodwin get pulled out, but never by me. Don't think it gets trips planted. I've pulled 16-18 inch hold-overs though. Usually around this time of year.

Caught several larger 20 - 22 out of Ballinger a couple years ago... guessing hold overs because they don't triploid that one.

A buddy and I used to pull 3 to 5 pound bows out of Goodwin but I haven't seen any that size for at least 5 years. It can hold and support some big fish. I've always trolled wedding rings behind pop gear of some sort tipped with a worm. Or F4 and 5 chrome flatfish. Slow down you're going too fast. The big ones hold in one spot only, look at the map and follow your sonar.

Paper reports Trout up to 20" in Goodwin
At one time I lived on Goodwin. It was chock full of bass. Would like to fish it again sometime but am limited to a small row boat. Goodwin's too unpredictable for a boat that small. We used to fish the 7 lakes often using pop gear. Am a stone's throw from the confluence of the Stilly

over the years we caught big ones out of Ebey Lake and Storm Lake. This was pre-triploid planting.

Where did the paper get the report from? If it was from a resort on Goodwin or a guide I would take it with a very large grain of salt. Maybe a bushel of salt
Those reports always seem to be on the sunny side of reality.

I got close Sunday with a 19 1/2. I was specifically trying to target larger fish though.

According to the latest and greatest reports, one about 17in was caught there recently. Actually thinking about taking the boat out there this weekend.
