fishin'dude,
I am glad that to hear you're getting an Outback, and going down the same path. You are not going to have any problem, and especially with the 12'. The most importan thing I think will be to make sure that you get your brakes checked when you get the car, so that you know how much pads/shoes you have left and that everything is in good stoping condition.
The towing capacity is well beyond what your 12' will weigh even with the trailer and motor, but I myself carry all gear in the vehicle while driving. You just want to be able to stop well. Let us know how it goes.
Anybody tow with a Subaru Outback?

Actually, I have the Outback already. I've owned it since 2002. I'm getting a 12' boat. haha. Thanks for the advice. I feel much more comfortable purchasing the boat now.The Quadfather wrote:fishin'dude,
