My son and I just finished building this FL12 stitch and glue wooden boat. It is a Bateau design and quite a bit of fun to build. We added anchor locks, lockers in the seats, and a few other items. 2.5 HP suzuki is plenty for it and have had it out in Black Lake, St Clair and Patterson (Pattison) lakes. I put together a 4x8 folding trlr and used it to travel from Tumwater to Port Townsend to pick up the marine plywood. Since picking up the wood the trlr has been used as a work bench (concrete garage floors are pretty hard on 70 yr old knees). After bldg the boat we cleaned up the trlr and extended the tongue, added rollers and side rails and bow stop and it is very easy to launch and recover. Hope this pic comes out ok.

Nice work! Always nice to see a fellow builder out there, and a Bateau builder to boot! I built the first LB22/Nina called Cloud Cap, so I know what you have been through to get that boat.

very cool do u have more pictures of how you setup your trailer im also using a folding trailer for my boat and kinda ant to improve on it... also how did u extend the tung?

The trailer mod was pretty easy. I wanted to be able to change the trlr back to original so we didn't weld anything to the trlr itself. I used 8' 2x4s with a 2x4x6" block under each end running the length of the trlr deck. The trlr is sprung pretty hard and this gives a little cushoning under the bottom of the boat. I covered the 2x4s with indoor outdoor grass carpeting. It is pretty slippery so boat loads easy. The most expensive part was the 2 12" rollers in the back. I have a 5" skeg tapered from the transom to about the middle of the bottom of the boat and it goes between the rollers when on the trailer. I extended the tounge with a 2x2 tube (pretty heavy duty) slid right thru the original toungue mount and angle brackets at the front of the trlr. Bolting to the front of the trlr. takes away the ability to tilt the trlr so if that is an option you use then bolt it to a cross piece.
