Better yet a "who's on first routine"!

"Who" uncoupled the trailer from the tow hitch!..........No, "who" rode the boat and trailer down the ramp after coming unhitched.

"Where" uncoupled the trailer!....No, "Where" is in the water retrieving the boat trailer, that is still attached to the floating boat!

"What" is that rope for! Nope, "What" is driving the cop car!

"Would" you pay attention! I am, "Would" is keeping count of all the cops it takes to negligently launch a boat, in case a few come up missing!

"Who" is missing! No, "who" rode the boat on the trailer down the ramp!

"Who" is in the boat? Yes, with "Wingnut" keeping him company.

I thought I was "Wingnut"! No you are the "Boss" cause it sais so on your hat!

Could you imagine getting pulled over on the water, and receiving a boater safety lecture, and or a ticket from any of these yahoos? And, keep a straight face while they did so? "Say, while your lecturing me let me show you this video, on youtube".

Make sure you put the pin in and that it's locked well! All of that could have avoided if that put a safety chain on their trailer. I would think that cops would be trained in stuff like that...

The tongue jack looks to be a swivel type, and so the wheel should have been swiveled up so it didn't hit the ground, that's what forced the socket up off the ball. So I'm also thinking there was no pin in the latch.

Either there was no pin, or the latch wasn't latched all the way. I had that happen to me once launching at Martha Lake here in Lynnwood. The launch was a crowded that to turn around you had to unhook your trailer and rehook it after the truck turned around. I forgot to latch it well and as I backed up, the trailer popped off because of the incline. It didn't go far though, because I have the safety chains. An embarrassment for sure, but I tell you what, I learned my lesson. I'm sure those guys are going to be the brunt of a lot of funny jokes down at the precinct.

I thinking Muckelteo launch. Unprotected (no sea wall in the background. Plus, because the Muck ramp is unprotected it is famous for having deep sand, logs, and whatever else floats, deposited on the ramps. Also, common to deal with rough water, with strong currents, while loading the boat on das trailer.

This ramp eats two wheel drive vehicles for lunch!

Great video. It can happen to anyone if the right steps are not made. I enjoy sitting down at a ramp for some entertainment, especially during a humpy year

When I was in the Navy me and some guys would hang out at the Everett boat launch and drink beers. High quality entertainment for free. If you cant launch a boat you shouldnt drive it either.

Being a law enforcement officer doesn't make them super human, any smarter than any of us or infallible. It makes them willing to do a job most people aren't. They have the same learning curve we do. If they were down at the lake training people would complain because they might be enjoying it. Can't make everyone happy. I can think of one mishap with a boat I am glad no one filmed.

Glad no one was hurt. Chalk up one life lesson for the guys in blue.
