I went out on a drive Saturday up north after picking up a friend in Snoqualmie area.We headed north on 203 to Monroe then to I-5 heading north. We hit the Sylvana Meat Market by 10:30 am.The place had 1 other person there for about 10 minutes then the rush came it.What a fantastic butcher shop. Thanks to you Norsemen for giving me a heads up on this place. They do their custom smoking ,sausage making ,custom cutting.I left getting off easy only spending 1 c note.If it wasnt for the diet I could have spent way more.Their beef looked absolutely beautiful.

We then took a drive back up Hiway 20 to Coupville looking for shrimp.Found lil ones but they said water conditions havent been great till later in the day so we said oh well.WE then went back to the Bow-Edison area up Chucanaut Drive to Taylor Oysters.Boy are they expensive seeing they stole state land.(as the story goes).Got a few oysters and drove to lil areas arond and found a good cheese company. The drive up north was beautiful and on a nice day.On the way back stopped in Mt Vernon and bought mom a Mothers day gift. Thanks again guys on the mention of Sylvana Meats..

P.S. If you see shrimp pieces along Hiway 20,Hiway11,I-5,and 203 just thank Racfish and company.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Western Meats in Tumwater is my newest find.I've been working a job in Chehalis and I found two new meat markets. One is in Centrailia area called "THE BEEF SHOP" They sell fresh Wa and Or beef . Their slaughterhouse is on site.I bought some nice sirloin ,ribeyes, and ground beef.Prices are reasonable. The other was "WESTERN MEATS" in Tumwater. Fantastic assortment of meats both fresh and frozen. Also smoked meats, sausages, and cheeses. The "Cougar Gold Cheese" is really good.

They had Filet Mignons wrapped with bacon at $6.00 each.At least 6 0z. each. Needless to say at that price I bought a half dozen and froze some.I cooked a couple for me and the lady and they were very very tastey.Well worth another trip down there. Their chiken cordon bleu was also very good.I like their pricing best. I think rib yes were $6.00 each also.Go in and try .Id rather support a local meat market then spend it at Safeway anyday.
