I took a lil trip to Yakima for a combo of work and sunshine this last Saturday.I left the house at 5:00 am .What a great time to drive. The roads are clear of traffic and cruise control the whole way there. After my measure I went to farm country in the reservation area down Lateral A.All veggies are comming in. I bought fresh cut okra, pickling cukes, zuchinis, fantastic cherries, and apricots. They had some mild peppers too. Dill, mint, and herbs. I love it this time of year. Since Saturday afternoon Ive put up 20 pints of pickled okra,6 pints of flameing okra,20 pints of Apricot preserves. Some have full sugar, less sugar, and no sugar.I still have a half of case left.I'll process them all by weeks end.I have to say the weather was great. By 8:30 it was like 80 degrees. By the time I left the upper Canyon Road it was a good 90 plus.I love the extreme hot weather on the east side. On my way home I looked at property for sale.Ifin you want to take a beautiful drive with the family ,Shoot on over to the east side.Take the canyon road or I82 ,either way its nice.
