A new species for me! Brookies...

Post by fishaholictaz » Thu Jul 09, 2009 8:11 pm

A new guy started at work yesterday and he is a fisherman to the point of addiction also:cheers: After work we decided to go up to 8,000+' and catch some brookies. I have never really caught many of these so I was looking forward to going. When we got there I found that the spinners I had planned on using were to big#-o So I dug through my bag and found some power bait little 1 inch worms in pink. I ended up fishing one of those on a size 8 hook. It was a total blast because of the color of the lure and how shallow the water was you could see the fish slamming that little worm! I also found that they were most interested when I worked the worm like a senko so it was like mini bass fishing:bounce: (I think I am really really bass deprived:-({|= ) I landed 1 a little over 12" but most were 6-10" but a total blast to catch!!!

Taz,

Glad to hear you found someone out your way with the same addiction. :bounce: And yes, you sound bass deprived.

Brook trout are awesome. Used to fish little streams when I was a kid in Eastern WA with worms. Good times.
The fish. They are laughing at me. Can you hear them?
