Question on humpy fishing
I fish for humpys and silvers from the beach on Whidbey Island. I know the go to lure is the pink buzz bomb. I have also casted 1/2 oz pink jigs with some success for humpys. Last year fishing by the Coupeville ferry for silvers, guys were using bobbers and bait like you would in the river. My question is, has anyone ever used a sliding bobber and jig or sliding bobber/bait for shore fishing humpys in the Sound? I was thinking of trying it this year but didn't want to look like a total fool doing it. When the buzz bomb is not producing, will this work? Thanks.
Re: Question on humpy fishing
Check out the Video section, there is one about humpy fishing and they show using jigs and a sliding bobber with success
Re: Question on humpy fishing
Well humpers are easy if it's pink they'll hit it. that said if you want to do bobber /jig or bait get some frozen shrimp and dye it pink with some bad azz dye. There was a fisherman that would get some fish doing that at dash point & browns point lighthouse, til he'd get crowded out by everybody at dash. So i would assume that gig would work at whidbey if they're around.

Cool. Thanks guys. I did not see bobber/jig fishing for humpys in the video section. Maybe I missed it. I do think I will give it a go though and show them buzz bombers how its done

It's there. Tip- type in "pinks" into the search box on the video page. Pops right up.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!
