resident coho area 9
I would really like to get my son a little more intrested in salmon fishing and have heard of some stories of decent fishing for resident Coho in area 9 but have not been able to find out the most productive area and how to fish it. I myself would prefer to fish for kings and have spent many great days out on the water and am always of course a little happier when theres a fish or two in the boat but just being out on the water is a great day for me. Can anyone steer me in the right directions for targeting these fish? I do plan on hitting the Humpy Hollow with him this weekend but I would prefer to target the resident coho for the BBQ.

Possesion or point no point would be my go to spot... We picked up 2 coho this last week just south of Point no Point and just north of possession at the bait box would be another good spot.... Have no fear though, when the pinks arrive up in Humpy Hollow and at shipwreck, you will hit Coho in those same areas also... Green/Glow flasher with applecore hootchie for the coho but the will hit pink coho killers just as well as the pinks...

We have been picking them off around the bar, the humpy special has been putting a hurt on them.
That's if you can get past all the pinks, good luck out there.

I hesitate to take you away from this wonderful site, but John's sporting goods has how-to articles and maps for Coho at the bar and off of Edmonds. I'm a saltwater newbie, but had success following John's directions. He also puts on free seminars occasionally. johnssportinggoods.com
If you got extra cash to burn, your son might like seeing the boat lift at edmonds ($44 versus $10 for the shilshole ramp).

Are you sure on the $44 figure? I thought it was $27, but then again I have never used it....

Re: resident coho area 9
sounds about right for last year, wonder how bad this year will be. It's so convenient. My wife loves it and I wouldn't go anywhere else when she and I go fishing. Although, when it hits $50 I may cry uncle.Matt wrote:Are you sure on the $44 figure? I thought it was $27, but then again I have never used it....

Roller trailers are $24. Mine's a bunk so they charge $35. Parking is another $6. Then tax.
Re: resident coho area 9
for those prices I could moor it permanently and save money as often as i launch.
