Does anyone on here use a flyrod for Pile or Rainbow Perch?
If so do you mind sharing your success stories fly pattern info and such?
I'm thinking it just might be the most fun I can have with my clothes on...

Re: Flyrod for Pile Perch
I've never seen anybody fly fish pile or rainbow perch, or seen many caught on anything besides bait. A small crab or shrimp (or sandshrimp) pattern may entice one, or try tying something that resembles a pile worm. Pesonally those are the only baits I've caught them on.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.
Re: Flyrod for Pile Perch
Might try a flavored rubber worm tied to a hook. Or, place bait on a hook. Would not be practical to cast many baits mentioned with a fly rod. Unless a small crab would stay on. I have heard of clams for bait, that might stay on when casting with the fly rod. That is all I've got.......good luck!
Edit: youtube shows surf perch flies being tied, and fly fishing for surf perch. Would give you a visual of what the flies look like.
