Stay in a car overnight in Monroe? Viable? Legal?

I'm sorry if this topic is not suitable for this forum, but can't seem to find a better place to ask. So please delete it if it's not appropriate.

I want to go to Monroe/Sultan for fishing early in the morning, so I have to wake up very early, I'd try to avoid that. So I'm thinking ..... Maybe I can drive to Monroe/Sultan the night before, then find a relatively safer place to park the car, then spend the night in the car. (The nearest camping place is Wallace Lake State Park, kinda far. A hotel is silly.)

Questions: Would places like Safeway or McDonald's let me do that? Can I just park the car in a park, although they always say the park is closed at dusk? More importantly, if a police officer found me in the car (alone), would I get myself into trouble???

Call the Monroe city police department and ask them where a safe place is. I did that in Sheridan Wyoming one time and they told me a good place to park. All of the motels were full for the rodeo. The place where they told me to park they routinely patrolled. All worked out well.

if you just want to pull up late night in your car and crash out until early morning i'd suggest going to the prison hole location over by the dairy farm.. i pulled in there a few weeks ago right at day light and some tweekers were there wrenching on a car and one guy was sleeping in back seat.. seems legit..

Unfortunately for some folks, there are a lot of people living out of their cars these days. There is an area in Ballard near the Fred Meyer/Hales... where many vehicles have people living in them regularly, and they sort of move the car every few days.
I'm just saying that you may go sort of under the radar...In the city, we are immune to seeing that now. Of course you are talking about Monroe/Sultan. I would just pick a decent looking neighborhood and parralel park.. keep low profile, don't keep interior flashlights on etc. and go...night night.
Actually, I would just spring for a cheap motel, but since you don't want that, pick a quiet neighborhood.

In my opinion seeing I fish the Sky and Snoqualmie quite a bit. If you want to stay close to the river Id spend the night in a small hotel/ motel near the river. For me at my age a Motel bathroom is a good thing to have in the morn. Also a shower before bed or before fishing also feels great and you stand a way less chance to getting your rig ripped off or have your windows bashed out.

X10!!! Tough to beat a shower and being fresh when you hit the water. Too many tweeker’s with, nothing left to lose, out that way. No social mores or personal morals left after you head down that path, there is no right or wrong just hitting the junk......

My wife had us getting up at 2:30am for Baker and Merwin lake trips this year. I thought "no way" but it wasn't too bad (ha!). Anyway, that gets you most places before light and in time to grab a parking spot. Take a nap later...

Back in the late 70's when I did the La Push /Westport days Id leave my house at 2 am get down there around 4:30 5:00 am. One day I was tired and three of us napped at the charter boat parking lot. We woke up at 8:00 am. We missed the boat and fished the jetty only. Sometimes you think youre gonna nap a lil but really it turns into a full blown sleepathon. Thats why I still do the Motel thing and get a wake up call. Good luck fishing to everyone.

I live in Redmond now and drive to Monroe all the time to pick my son up. I would just stay at home in your own bed, get up at 4am. You can be in Sultan befor 6am and that includes takin a shower, grabbing a quick bite to eat and some coffee. Just have your gear packed up the night before.
Infact, that is what I am doing Sunday morning with my son.
If you do deside to stay in your car overnight DON'T! I lived in Monroe for 12 years. It is a safe place to live but car prowls happen 2 to 3 times a night within a few blocks of my house. Apparently it's big business there.

I was just thinking how I used to go to the river and not have to use the restroom for 3 days. As you get older that dosent happen anymore. I need my ammenities. I love my morning coffee. I live in South Seattle. I fish the Snoqualmie and the Sky. I pick up my buddy 5:00sh get to the river and most of the time if not all the time there are places to fish. Whatever you decide have a great time and catch fishys. Be careful Most of us have things we love to live for. The tweekers just dont care about life like we do.
