News flash from Curlew: Muskies, Inc. member Ed H. has been hanging out at Curlew and will be spending all month there. He USED to be #57, but because of where he lives he is now a member of #60.
See one of the honkers he caught and released in the last few days: WOW!
48 3/4 x 24 inches and weighed 38.0 pounds.
Congratulations, Ed! She is magnificent!

Can't wait for Curlew!

The Esoxaganza is right around the corner and I really wish I could be there for that one!!! Don't forget LAX Reproductions is extremely generous to extend their wonderful donation of a free replica mount of the biggest tiger muskie caught 50" or bigger for this tournament due to it's nature. Ed's fish was only 1.25" off the limit.

Have fun guys and post those pictures!!:salut:

I agree Lucius we need to thank LAX Reproductions more for what they do for Muskies Inc. The donations they make, and the memories they preserve for us are just awesome. So heres another THANK YOU LAX REPRODUCTIONS. You guys do need to bring more than one guy to beat us since its going to take 2 fish to win the Coveted Golden Bucket.......one guy can catch 10 fish but only one fish counts. Now chapter 60's going to have atleast 2 people so we can weigh in our 2 bigger fish and take home the Bucket.....

As an innocent bystander, I must say I am quite excited to hear about the outcome when y'all get back. I'd be lying if I said I cared more about who wins then about who gets to eat the most crow. :)

Beautiful weather....hope y'all are having a great time and knockin' 'em dead!

Well, just a quick report here. Curlew did not give up any monsters this weekend. We had a great turnout, with about 20-25 people participating. Neither Chapter will be able to claim the fabled Bucket this year. It shall stay on the shelf till next year.

There was only one tiger caught during the 24 hours. That fish was caught in the last 15 minutes of the tournament. Regrettably though, it was only 16" long and thus did not qualify for the tournament. That tiny fish was taken by yours truly, on a lure that was larger than he was. Talk about having ambition! That little fish will go far if he stays alive.

Several fish were spotted, but none committed to taking the lures. There were about 6 fish spotted total.

Although the fishing was less than perfect, we had a fantastic time. Chapter 60 put on a fish fry, which fed all more than one meal. Thank you Chapter 57 and 60 members that lent a hand in making this tournament such a fun event. I know I will be looking forward to it next year.

Just would like to know where Brett, and Doug and the rest were? Brett i tried to use your lure to beat your own chapter but the fish wouldnt bite. Chapter 57 had a chance to steal the coveted golden bucket right out from underneath Chapter 60 and they couldnt do it cause you guys werent there to help LOL LOL LOL...I guess well have to shelf the bucket for now. Hope to see everyone at the Pend Oreille River tournament on Oct 23rd. Thanks chapter 57 for a great tournament along with great fellowship cant wait till we do it again...Hopefully well get some pics up from the tournament soon...

I sure wish I could have been there! Missed seeing everyone. Sorry to hear everyone was skunked. Guess you had to share the Humble Pie. The cup will remain elusive for another year, the winning will be all the sweeter. Its easy to believe the one fish was caught by a Doug, makes perfect sense to me. Thanks to everyone involved, it is a labor of "fish love".

Even with no fish I had an awesome time! It was nice seeing some people again, and meeting more. The fish fry was great! Thanks again to Mel, Craig, and Scotty for that! I can't wait to do it again.
