Tiger Muskies are sterile.
You can't keep them under 50 inches:
Let them do their job: Eating N.P.Minnows

To ALL Members of Chapters 57 and 60 Congratulations! I can see a lot of familiar faces, fish, and fingers in those photo's! Way to go "Mr. October" Mike F. and Mr. Buddy... you guys rock! It is also cool that the Editor of the Muskies, Inc. Calendar also added Chapter 59, our good friends from New Mexico, in with us in the month of October. New Mexico, is really giving us a "run for the money" when it come to outstanding "Tiger" hunting... A great fishery also. Great job everybody!
As the letter, sent with the calendar, from the President of Muskies, Inc., Mr. Dan Narsete, states: " It was Muskies, Inc. that first adopted the philosophy of "catch and release", which impacted millions of fisherman big and small, Did you know we recorded the release of 486 50" + Muskies, in 2009 alone? Or how about the fact that Five Muskies in the second half of 2010 released were between 57-58.5?". Isn't this amazing? These fish, of course, are Pure-Breds but we are producing some of the largest "Tigers" that have been seen in years anywhere in the Nation here in Washington!
We are still waiting on a Muskies, Inc. Member to break that 50+" barrier... I know it will be soon! Other Anglers have already been lucky enough out here to do it... They have just not been Members of Muskies, Inc.. Heck, "Mr. October"... Mike F. came close this Spring with a 49 incher from Lake Tapps. Mike H., recorded a 48.5 incher from Merwin Res. this year. I've personally seen fish running in the mid-fifties (inches) come to my boat! They are there, as long as we can keep WDFW, Tiger Muskie Program, alive and strong, we will be experiencing some of the finest Tiger Muskie fishing in the Nation! The fish serves a dual purpose here. Tiger Muskies eat Northern- Pikie Minnows (aka- "Squaw-fish") for lunch and they provide a wonderful Trophy Fishery at the same time... This is a "Win/Win" situation for all the Anglers in the State of Washington.
Once again, my congratulations go out to ALL the NW TIGER PAC, and MOUNTAIN MUSKIES, Members who made the 2011 Muskies, Inc, Calendar:cheers:
