For Pike I like the 2 white ones and the white and chartruese and the olive and char.
For Bass I like black and blue and other colors with black in it. Like Black/ char, Black/red , Black/purple, and Black/silver. My other favorites are Char/ white and watermelon/char.

Sounds like I could/ought to just option the skirts by each spinnerbait color.

yeah, it was a test. LOL.

In a week (168hrs) I got 83 views on a Trout forum sponsor message with a 20% discount code. In 12 hrs, I got 111 views to this chasing skirts post that attracted multi-species anglers to the Muskie forum.

Looks like the title gets more then the moderators attention on this one.

Truth be told, I really was chasing around looking for another blue and black skirt when the title idea for a thread came to me.

John those are some nice colors, we use alot of the white,white and chart,chart and blue for Pike. When it comes to the Muskie we use alot of blk,blk and silver,brwn and orange,green,brwn. Keep up the good work on the lures. I will be throwing them when i hit the river.

I'm missing something where's the skirts?#-o Early reports on your skirted lures for salmon show the chat/white combo is the ticket. Purple for some reason is always a good color for steelhead and trout. My bucktails with black and red do very well. The Cudaman bucktail in brown and white put several Pike in the boat last October. When we fire up for Pike in March I'll be fishing the FCS Muskie Dinner Bell's and FCS Special Editions in all colors then we'll see what else the Pike like. John on the FCS Squid Lures can the skirts be interchanged?

I could make another design with a jointed tail for the skirt and hook, with a split ring attach and yes it could then be changed, have to see what process would turn out to be. Also not sure how that will run or hang up on a cast, but seems it would allow a skirt change over th top loop onto the skirt collar. or by split ringing on a different color.

Is this question about skirt wear or just to change colors? If wear, with this design you would remove the tail, messing with the split ring, either taking off the head or tail, then pull or snipe off the old skirt, then push the new skirt over the tails top loop and onto the collar. If you want a new tail and old ones good, you could sell the tail sections with different colors to swap them. Not sure what you were thinking.

Here's number 1 - I put the skirt on over the tail loop. Its a little sketchy pushing it toward that waiting barb, but pretty easy overall. I split ring attached the hook, so it could be removed or changed if needed.

Also added that black pvc slack absorber on the head section. It can slide over the tail splitring, spanning the two sections to stabilize them if needed, same with tail stack.

Bump. I edit added a picture of a jointed one.

If the stacked aspect of Squid positioning the hook toward end of skirt and avoiding stinger, isn't important, I could do away with the stacker.

Then you could do the skirt switch (provided it was a worn skirt situation) over the hook, like a spinnerbait. I suppose you could do a skirt color change that way to. Slide current skirt off over hook, then new one back on. Removing the old one back over the hooks barb might break some strands depending on skirts age.

Thanks Marc for the skirt picture and yes I think that a maniquin. But the effort was there. John I don't know how importent it would be to be able to switch out skirts if it effects the action or noise it may not be a good idea. The salmon boys where just curious if that option of skirt swap was possible.

Sure its possible, just need some communication to build to their spec.

For jointed, I'll need to try one in the water. The way it feels, it will do fine and may have more side to side motion++.

Other option, if they want to change skirts on a one pieice, is to take a scissors to the pvc stacker to remove it, then change skirts over hook (provided its a single hook, that is).

There are a couple of beads pvc was centered over. That might slow down the switch. I can remove them if I know their preference.

If they want the positioning back after switch, just buy a couple feet of 1/4inch od. pvc and slide it back over barb into place.
