Awesome video! 57 members that do this, my hat's off to you. People catch so few to begin with, then subject yourself to even fewer fish.... I will say you have patience!

Can't find a way of ordering it yet. I have an email sent out and hopefully will get that info. When I get a reply, I'll post it in this thread and in Fly Fishing.

Ok, that is just down right torture. We have got to land Tiger Muskies this year on the fly, I don't care how hard it is. I'm going to get one if it kills me.

Sweet. Once it warms up a bit...
Boats a lil damp too. The cover support shifted.
Step off the front porch and the boat cover looked fine. Walk around the other side...
The cover inverted and I had my own lil pond going on inside the boat. I also found some Hazel Nuts, Peanuts and little bits of foam padding in the boat.

Rich, sounds like you have some squirrel/ chipmunk hunting to do, rather than fishing! Then maybe a little construction!

I can only watch his videos for a few minutes before my hands start shaking......... it's ridiculous![laugh]
RE:Musky On The Fly
Well Sparky, Doug and Mr Prince of Pike,
I think we all are going to have to plan a trip like this some day and give this a serious try. Being that I know each of you has the same hunger for these tremendous beasts as I do, I can't think of any other way to tame this urge than to actually go do it. I hear this can also be done over in Montana so we wouldn't even have to go into Canada, but from that video, for the size of the Pike, Canada is well worth the chance for one of those monsters. Who knows the Pend Oreille could easily have those size in a few more years, there is plenty of forage and food for them. I am just excited period to catch a monster in the 40 + inch range, which I am sure can be done on the Pend Oreille. Thanks for the GREAT Video!!! Have a good one.

RE:Musky On The Fly
O.k., the DVD arrived in the mail this morning and I just spend 1hr. and 49 minutes watching it. All I can say in two words is BUY IT!
This is one of the finest produced videos I have ever seen. Robert Thompson is a master at blending all the aspects of this sport into a cleverly flowing video. His editing is superb, inserting little bits of "wow, that's cool" unexpectedly into the film. His finished product is, without a doubt, 5 Star.
The guys in the "Musky Tribe" are passionate about their sport. They also make it clear, that you have to have the patience to hunt these magnificent fish. Fly fishing for Muskies is not like casting a #16 Adams on a high mountain lake when a great Mayfly hatch is on. You have to have the dedication to fling large flies endlessly for hours on end without results. But, when it happens, it happens big.
The main portion of the DVD is video of action on the water, discussions of the sport and why it is so addicting. Robert also includes sections on fly tying, fly patterns, bass and northerns on the fly and also a 19 min. clip on a two day float.
Robert Thompson's attention to customer service is excellent. He keeps in constant contact with you as to the status of the order.
I'm getting in on this action, period!

Yeah, when I first saw the video, I immediately went out and bought it. I must have watched the video like 100 times already.Mark K wrote:Wow! Awesome video. Thanks Lucius
You are absolutely right Nateb1. The POR is probably still the hottest pike fishery going right now in the lower 48 in terms of catching the numbers. I know there are some brusiers in there for sure. Idaho definitely has some quality fish as well and there is a spot I definitely would like to try that is off the beaten path...or maybe two actually. Montana definitely has some quality waters...I know in-fisherman ranked ft. peck the best in the lower 48 a couple years ago. I lost a pike in North dakota that would have been the biggest pike I ever caught in the lower 48 last 4th of July. I know my buddy from Idaho is from North dakota and he was telling me about all the like creeks and streams out in the middle of no where in farm country that are loaded with pike. The pike will actually compete for the lure. I can also imagine from your home town nate minnesota has a ton of quality waters. I know I have been wanting to go to the Lake of The Woods for a long while now. Although I must say there is one spot I want to try in Saskatchewan... you drive to it. They were catching four to five 20lb plus pike a day at a certain time of the year. I have to say that is probably my number 1 drive to spot I want to try. We will just have to sit down and plan it one of these days. Dream Dream Dream!!:bounce:Natebg1 wrote:Well Sparky, Doug and Mr Prince of Pike,

Hey Lucius,
I would really enjoy being able to plan a trip for Pike on the Fly, what a treat that would be and it would even be fun to also throw some lures at them with Rod and Reel as well. Talk about having some great stories to tell!!! You are probably already knocking the fish out of the ballpark in good old Rocky Mountain country. By the way, just to let you know I will be in the Denver area in the middle of July, not sure how far that is from You, but I would love to maybe take a day or two to try and do some fishing if possible. Let me know and I will email you over my contact info. Have a good one.

RE:Musky On The Fly
Interesting how this thread for a video produced by Robert Thompson transformed into promoting Barry Reynolds video "Pike on The Fly".
