Favorite fishing trip lunch

When I was a kid, my dad use to pack lunch for us when we went on fishing trips. Usually contained a can of potted meat and crackers or vienna sausages and crackers. Not high on my list anymore, but once in a while I'll through in a can for old times sake. Now, my favorite thing to throw in the lunch box is a nice thick ham on toast with all the fixin's, or some left over fish which I don't mind cold when I am on the water. Got me wonderin' what do WA lakes members like to throw in their lunch box? Rac-I really want to hear what you throw in, everything you post sounds five star quality.

Favorite mid-summer fishing food: Lunch; Roast beef w/provolone, deli mustard, and lettuce sandwich and a cold IPA (or coffee if it's cold outside). Breakfast; Cinnamon raisin bagel w/ cream cheese and hot coffee.

My favorite nostalgia fishing food is plain hot dog roasted over a driftwood fire and served on a dry bun. This is from a summer catfishing trip with my dad on the Yakima, just across from West Richland. We got a fire going on the bank and were getting hungry, so dad hiked across the bridge to the market and picked up a pack of hot dogs and pack of buns. Roasted them on sticks over the fire and ate while sitting on the bank waiting for a bite. One of my favorite memories. Come to think of it, I don't even think we caught any fish that night.

I don't take food out in the boat anymore. I might have to go ashore to take care of business. And that cuts into my fishing time.

Those were the best tasting hot dogs and as a kid we use to fish that area for cats as well. The best part was finding the right branch off of the russian olive trees and whittling it as sharp as you could get it.

when i do bring a lunch it's a pb&j washed down with a rockstar. usually my fishing meals consists of coffe on the way there and 3 or 4 rockstars. wonder why it so hard to sleep at night after a hard days fishing:-"

Fried chicken, roast beef or ham sandwiches, coffee, full size bag of corn chips. For fond memories - old fashion donuts.

Yeah, that's the worst.....that's when breathable waders ain't so breathable, if you know what I mean.

You know I do love my food. But for some reason in the boat I find it hard to eat. If I still-fished more, then I could see working through some good roast beef and smoked Gouda cheese sandwhiches. But I'm usually trolling and dropping downrigger balls, with one hand on the tiller. Whenever I try to bring a sandwhich it winds up on the floor. (at least I think it did in KZOO's boat):-" I roll with a bag of corn nuts or beef jerkey for ease.

Ham or turkey wraps always work with a gatorade and water.

Yeah, coffee and soda usually ends up on the bottom of my boat! I don't remember sandwiches, but good luck with Cotton the dog running around. Need to put in some more cup holsters in my boat.

My typical lunches are PBJs, chips, and/or trail mix.

Ham, turkey, swiss cheese, lettuce, horseradish mayo on a deli bagel. Not the crap bagels in the bread aisle. 2 if I'm out all day. Some green seedless grapes or nectarines. Washed down with coffee and diet Dr Pepper. If I gotta go - I go. I'm not bashful.

I really like to bring a sub sandwhich. Especially since they are free for me lol. In the summer at silver lake they have a steakhouse with a dock that I like to stop at.

I like fried chicken, with a powerade, I always have a supply of cracked pepper sunflower seeds near by to keep me held over if Im fishin hard.

Gotta have a big bag of Jacks Links Jerky on the boat for snackin.
