Ok here's the info on the July 16th Silver Lake Open tournament. This will be a 2 person team format tournament. Cost will be $15.00 per person, additional $10.00 per person for big fish pot which is optional. We will be hosting the tournament out of the public launch area. Sign-up will start at 6:00am to 6:30am, manditory meeting from 6:30am to 6:45am. Tournament starts at 7:00am and runs till 4:00pm. We will be doing a dollar raffle afterwards for some nice gifts. We will be paying out the top three places. You can check our website for all the rules and info on what you need to fish the tournament. We are permitted to 20 boats so if you want to make sure you and your partner have a spot email me with your info and I will add you to the list we are already almost half filled as of today. My email address is melodie@yjguideservice.com and the chapters website is www.mountainmuskies.com If anyone has any questions feel free to email me and I will get back to you.....Craig

Looks like I won't be there. I ran into some very bad luck. :pale:
The oil line coming off the oil injector pump broke on my 150 hp Mercury XR2 and seized the engine in only 1/4 of a mile of running. So I will be down for some time till I can get it repaired. Live sucks!!!!!!!! [cursing] It only ran bad for about 10 seconds before it croaked and I had to make it back to the launch on just trolling motor. It's gonna run me at least $1500 to get it repaired. So if you all could buy a few more Fish-N-Fool lures it would help. :)

The day my motor died on the way back to the launch, I did catch my first Walleye out of the P.O. so it did have one small bright spot that day.

I'd still like to fish this if anyone has an open seat. You can call me @ 2o8-265-5157

Should have bought a BIG JOHNSON F-N-F! You can always count on a BIG JOHNSON. Thats brutal. Not great timing, but stuff like that happens. The cost of running a fast boat can add up quickly. You could always throw an extra battery in and troll around the lake. Silver isn't that big. Besides, the fish won't care how fast your boat goes. Heck, I might even throw you a rope and tow you back to the launch with my slow boat.:bounce:

Truck is pretty much packed. Looking forward to fishing with you folks on Saturday.
Also hoping to get into some northerns with Mark tomorrow,he's also going to put some tigers in the net,I suspect he'll get a 40+ inch fish out of Silver. I also made a stop at Dick's Sporting Goods, hope I picked up some useful items for the raffle. I was able to find some decent release tools but not much on lures, just not a very good selection as of yet in that store.

That's pretty nifty that people have such great opportunities to fish in a Tiger Muskie tournament this weekend. Everyone can have great fun with either of the Muskies Inc. chapters having the tournaments and the opportunity to try for some great prizes. Just have to pick which side of the state to go for....the dry side or the wet side...or which one is closer to home so you can conserve gas money.
Hope everyone has a great time and be sure to post results and maybe pics quickly for those of us that can't make it.

Heyah Mark,
I'm thinkin' you'll get one this weekend. I'm sending my lucky charm over to be the netman. Hes put a musky in the net the last 3 times we went out. You slap his forehead and he spits out a Super Shad Rap..good luck man..I feel a 46" coming your way for your first Tiger Musky. And a win! Good luck..remember go big baits man!

Well, the Silver Lake Open was a success! We caught 4 tigers in all. Chris Gades won first place with 2 tigers, 34" and 30". Second place went to Colton Imholt, with a 36" fish. He also won big fish. Mark Kendall, after having put countless hours in all of last year, and quite a few this year caught a 33" tiger! Congratulations to Mark!!!!!! I built him a bump board, as good luck in the tournament. I guess it paid off. I am sure he will forever have that thing in his boat now! That in itself made my tournament. Again, a special congratulations to Mark!

Many fish were seen, but few were cooperating. I saw 3 early in the day. There were several hook-ups, but resulted in lost fish. One even bit through an 80# steel leader.

Congratulations to the winners and all who participated and had a good time. Thanks for making our tournament a success!

Thanks Doug! All it took was the Bump Board! And your right, that things not leaving the boat!

And thanks Todd for letting me borrow your lucky charm! He was great with the net! Its just too bad he couldn't get that 30"+ Silver tiger on the board.

It turned out to be a beautiful day as we missed all the thunderstorms we were supposed to see!

Congrats mark on your first Tiger. I got my first Tiger at the Newman lake tourney this year.
Wish I coulda fished this, but it looks I may be boat-less for quite some time. Most likely it will run me about 1200 bucks to get my mercury 150 HP repaired. Here is the damages.

All the rest of the cylinders look like this in good shape though.
