Okay guyz its that time of year again , For those of you that have never attended This fun and exciting venue before ,let me just say that "This is your Year" !!

The Bob Mickelsen Memorial Open, which started in 1995, is a team bass tournament benefiting Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma. Through 2010, $33,986 and toys worth thousands had been raised for the children of Mary Bridge Hospital.[cool]

It doesnt matter if your not in a bass club ,tourney Angler , Flw Touring Pro etc . We welcome all angler from all walks of life to come out a enjoy a fun day of on Lk Washington for a GREAT cause ...We do encourage all to please bring Toyz for the kids and those items will be collected prior too the Boaters Meeting . [-o<

I will be checking this thread upwards to tourney day incase anyone has any questions or Concerns . Over the years The WL.COM members have shown an awesome display of support and the nembers of anglers are growing each year . Last years winners were Mark Maderios and Russ Baker (Limit out Marine) taking first place , My partner and i took 3rd place , It was a cool day to witness 4 WL.COM members in the winners circle :king: [flapper]

Good Day Dez!! A couple questions for you. Lets say I am shorebound to fish. First is that a possibility? I ask because in my boat Ive only got a 40 hp. motor. It would take me a tank of gas to get back to weigh in by 3 pm. It would also take me a good 45 mins to an hour to get to Coulon from the north end. I know the fish need to stay alive during this day till weigh in. I guess my question is "Can Bankies fish this tourney or is it a boat only deal?"
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Hmmmm , Well we have never had a Bankie Before Racfish #-o ! Honestly The only problems i could think of is the area in which you plan too fish .
Most of time we make the Host Marina (Coulon Beach park)Off Limits for anglers so that would include the inside of the fishing peir at Coulon .
With that being said this will limit your fishing , I would suggest that if your looking too attend this event and display your Bass'n skills why dont you just make it known that your in need of a fishing partner. Im sure there is a boater on this site that would like to partner up with you .

Im glad that you brought up this subject Racfish, Over the years This event has started many partnerships in the bass community . I recall about 5 years ago i met my now good friend and occasional tourney partner Ryan on this site by way of the same event .
I wanted too fish the event and i needed a boater and the rest is history .
Another great partnership that just recently took place last year is Fishing Machine and his partner . They both went on too fish many more events as a team and im sure they will be attending this years event ..
My point here Racfish , is that threads like this have been growing our bassfishing community for years Bro , THAT MAKES ME SMILE EVERYTIME BROTHER!! :salut:

Too bad I'm busy that day. I wonder if I can change my plans. I haven't been in a tourney for years, but plan on trying them again, someday. Washington certainly isn't even close to my best lake. I've already been planning on fishing it tomorrow or Thr. or Fri. Maybe I should go all 3 days. :-k

As dez was saying dustin and I started fishing this event. Its a great fun tourney. As dez said we have gone on to fish a few more events. Dustin and I are looking forward to fishing this event again. We have learned a lot over the past year on lake wa. Hopefully it pays off. Thanks dez for your club putting on such a great tourney.

Ya, It'd be fun even tho I probably wouldn't even catch a fish to weigh in. Bought another Dobyns rod yesterday, just before Auburn closed, and finaly ordered that rod using the certificate. Thanks again. Yes I mentioned you. [thumbup]

This is a Team tourney Travy and therefore rules state only 2 anglers per boat ..
