No Fair Mark! I drove by the lake on the way to work, and it was gorgeous in the sun with the mountains covered in snow behind. I was really wishing I was taking the boat out instead of heading off to work, but oh well. Glad you got to get out and enjoy that wonderful day!

But if I was going to fish for trout off a dock, I'd either be plunkin powerbait, throwing spinners, or casting dick nites. You can get some nice Cutts and Bows out of Lake Washington, specially if you can find somewhere with a drop off/ledge

I've almost always fished it out of a boat, except growing up fishing off log boom so I'm not gunna be much help there.
I agree with Elijah though, Ballinger would be be a good option too
Hey, I grew up fishing Log Boom Park. Either my parents dropped us off or we rode our bikes down there almost every day during the summer and on most weekends all year long. When I turned 16 and got a car it was not unusual to find my red Galaxy 500 parked there while I should have been in school. Although as we got older we called it Ru*ber Beach, my reason for being there was to fish. From the rickety old loading pier we caught everything that swims in the lake. I am not even sure if the old pier is still there, I haven't been down there in 30+ years. Perch, catfish, salmon, huge cutts, carp and an occasional steelhead all found their way back to my parents kitchen. A turtle even went home in my backpack once. It lived in our flooded sand box for a few months and was returned to the lake after we found that it was an escape artist. When we let it go it swam in a square for some time before it realized that it was free. I have endless stories of our experiences fishing at Log Boom Park. I met many people while fishing there as a child and as an adult I often wonder what became of the different people we met, our fishing friends.

Hopefully you got a chance to get out this weekend. I might make it out this week to drag some hardware..... I'm thinking that I should attach my license to my forehead the night before. LOL [wink]

Early? More like late.. LOL Drank a bunch of coffee on the way back from E WA and a bit worked up since someone that was supposed to check in on Robyn bailed and I felt I needed to cut my trip short to tend to the homestead. Your boat, I'll cover the gas, Tues, 10-11 is the earliest, Robyn's radiation sched for 8:45. Mon is out, rad and chemo, 9 1/2 hrs. If that doesn't work, we'll make it happen another day. It's all good! :salut:

Hahaha Mark. I did that two weeks ago fishing the Snoqualmie. Im fishing away ,took a small snack break and looked for my license and punchcard just to not being able toi find them. I remember looking at them in the dinning room the night before. I wrapped my gear up went home to find my license on the table. I just cant fish comfortably without a proper license.
Lake Wa produces all year round. Rainbows using eggs and a mallow work great with a slip sinker. Even perch will hit this time of year. Fish eat all year long. Patience is the key to success. About March even start throwing Crocs and Vibrex off the docks. Without millfoil it makes fishing just all that much better. Trout prefer the no weeds in the lake. All along Seward park penninsula you should be able to catch bows and cutties.

Waverly park has a drop off from 40-60 right off the edge of the pier. It is probably one of the better docks for that reason alone.
