Sorry Rick if your going musky go big! Try these for size. Picked up a few "big girl" toys for 2012. From the Milwaukee Musky Show. A few Musky Innovation Shallow Invaders and just a few Bulldawgs. Come on folks if you got em' lets flaunt them. Anyone get any new gear for this year. I know the northern pike deal is HUGE for a few of you but this is a musky forum so lets get this section movin' with some tips and tricks. For the record, I am not a member of any of the 2 clubs. Just a musky fisherman that is willing to share in anyway I can..so I am sharing..lol

Sorry Todd, I heard those Bulldawgs don't work! The Shallow Invaders look like awesome baits! I may need to give those a shot.

Huh? Who told you that? Bulldawgs do work. Not many folks use them out here. I was a skeptic but putting 2 muskies in the frabill within 20 minutes of each other was and is proof enough. Just hard on the shoulders. So I throw the Magdawgs 6 oz girls that are relatively easy on the shoulders. Compared to the pounders which are 16 oz wet sponges. A rythmic jerking beat keeps it easy to move these baits through the water. Whether you are fishing deep water or rippin' them through weeds. Though I will say when you get follows to the boat you get kinda tied up on what to do. Had a couple toads at Silver follow them to the boat. I let them freefall at the boat and the tigers have no problem tracking them and t-boning them boatside. Kinda like using the suzy suckers or those storm rubber baits. The bigger fish seem to enjoy the dawgs. When I come out there this spring you'll have to chuck a few. Start working out youngster! See ya, Todd

I was just giving you a hard time. I know they work for you. I still have a problem throwing stuff that big, just a confidence in the bait issue though. I did throw that 11" or 12" Jimmy you talked me into buying last year. Had some good looks with it but never hooked up. I seen a picture AJ's Dad had of a kid who caught a PIG Tiger on Silver with a pounder last fall so they do work... I have a smaller one that I do need to throw more this year.

You guys are both correct. The dawns work! I am a firm believers in going with the larger baits as well. You may not get the smaller fish to take a swipe, but the larger fish will.

I was only showing the bass cranks in my pictorial there. I also got bit by the bait monkey this winter and my collection is a bit bigger then yours. lol Here is some of the stuff I have acquired this winter.

Got me some 9" and 7" Sebile Magic Swimmers and 9" R2S Bossymark's. Along with a host of R2S S-wavers both 7" and 5". size. A 9" Depth Raider, a 7" Shallow raider, a 7" Cisco, some Rapala Mag Husky Jerks, a R2S V-Joint minnow, a cool topwater wake bait called a Triple Impact by Shimano, a 6" Guide Rap, a Creek Chub Pike minnow, a Rapala Clackin Minnow and a couple of Swim Whizz's. Gee did I forget anything? And don't get me started on the number of soft Basstrix Swimbaits I picked up this winter as well. I do like the looks of those Shallow Invaders, may have to pick me up some of them.
