Coho Madness!!

Post by RiverChromeGS » Tue Sep 11, 2012 6:47 pm

Hello Everyone!
Research has shown this year is suppose to be a banner year for coho. Huge returns expected back in the nooksack, especially on the south fork.
The Cascade River on the upper skagit is already stuffed with fish, and opens in a week.
Tons of coho are being caught in the sound
The Samish is already producing wild coho daily.

This year is looking GREAT, lots of fish are going to be around

I am switching to coho starting Sept 20th on the cascade, upper skagit and nooksack, but will still fish the samish through mid october as well

Book a trip for coho season, guaranteed half your money back if you dont catch a fish!!

Lots of dates left open in early october, lots of options and lots of fish, book today!!!

[thumbsup]

Last yr steelheadin! i can't remember the month, but me and my buddy were the first guys there, and you passed us not soon after. It was when the water was LOW.

I hope the skagit gets a good run

oh ya it was totally pitch black haha good times. I've hit 10 coho so far, but obviously have turned them loose. I went today and didn't see much activity. We need a rain before the 16th opener but i don't think its going to happen

it's just past marblemount. Newhalem is a little ways further. There is howard miller steelhead park in rockport that offers camping for rv's and tents. Rockport is 8 miles out from marblemount, so it's not bad at all. and the cascade has great bank access, just park at the fish hatchery, and walk the trail down to the bank, and you'll see alot of little drifts that the fish just lay in.

I cringe at the thought of not fishing the cascade for coho. just remember to bring your shrimp tipped jigs boys. also eggs spoons and spinnners. Yall better believe im gonna be living at the cascade when I get home for winter break. the steelhead call to me.

there is a camp site on the cascade it self right below the rockport-cascade bridge, used to be called rainy river campground or something but I believe they changed the name, good access on the hatchery side and another super duper secret access point that some people may know about if they go there a lot that allows access to almost every hole but not as good steelhead fishing.
FF I say it is going to be slow for all the people upstream of you guys cause you are not going to let a single fish pass by at anytime, where you guys gonna work on those hos at?
