Re: Catch of Kings
This is about 2 years old but still the biggest fish my friend has ever caught.
The story begins with me and some friends going over to leavenworth for the weekend. While I was in town my buddy in the picture gave me a call saying we should go fishing. I told him that fishing was closed in the river, when I got back I gave him a call, he was down on the river, drunk as a skunk, but he was all excited to show me the fish he caught, and he fell in knee deep in the glacier river in january getting it. HE CAUGHT IT WITH HIS BARE HANDS... lol. Oh yeah, I know the river was closed.

I Submit the following group photo. I don't know how it gets better, my bro,my old man,my best friend and steelhead. And before anyone's panties get in a bunch about these fish having adipose fins, they are from the salmon river where they don't clip the fins but they are all hatchery fish.

Re: Catch of Kings
Thank you for rendering judgement dd as you could imagine your approval means the world to me. And yes I am in the photo I am the handsome fellow on the end with the chromer who in no way can be compared to the man amongst men clint eastwood. And no me nor my brother have been known to pass on a good meal or high volumes of draft beverages. And the old man has that look because we had been giving him grief about his "keeper" all morning.

Re: Catch of Kings
yes I kept it, and yes I ate it (smoked up good!) First ever steelhead and it wasn't wild so it went home with me. I worked hard for it. Up at 0-dark:30 for many days trying to catch that first one. Left the sticker under the clear-wrap on the cork of my brand new float rod/reel till I got that first fish. For luck. Not because I was too lazy to take it off. Really. (only the second time fishing with it)
4 hours between one caught earlier in the morning next to me, and this one later in the morning. Also happy it didn't take me years to get that first one, as some have reported. Glad all that research on the internet paid off!
Nothing else showing anywhere, and I was happy to be one of the few, the proud, the... well, you know....
