Still got another 30 drying, gonna take me 4 or 5 pink runs to burn thru'em all ](*,)

Also a quick question, is it kayak pt that's good for casting from the beach? this is my first pink run up here (lake stevens area)
always fished dash or browns point when i lived in tacoma.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

That's a whole lot of PINK! At least you're in no danger of running out of gear to throw at 'em.

I have never fished one of those darts but those are pretty sweet looking. how do you fish those, just cast them out and reel them in with a few twitches here and there?

People catch them off Mukilteo, which is fairly close. Im sure they catch them at kayak pt, no reason they wouldnt.
Deception pass is a little farther north but there are normally kings and coho mixed in the pinks up there.

The mold was a valentine's gift from the better half, and the jigs wiggle something fierce with a little bend on'em.

Basically fish'em just like a buzz bomb, personally i've always been partial to darts but most of the humpy sized ones you can't bend (they start to crack) to get just the right wiggle.

Yep, before i got my breathables i used to rock sneakers in the rivers. They were actually pretty dang comfortable, but didn't get a very good grip on the rocks.

Thanks for the info Fear no fish & steelheadin360, now it's just a matter of time for horde to arrive

Are you talking about the guacomole near the end? That one was quite large. I wouldn't mind tugging on one of those.

That be the one! I want to know how much did it weigh and where, even if it's not a specific location... Was it AK? LOL That's a beast! My best is 33, a few of them, just can't bust that number.

I got it on the cowlitz in either the last week of october or first week of november of '09. My buddy and i got down there around 8 or so in the morning to fish silvers (was using a 10ft 8-17 convergence and a 250 calcutta loaded with 12lb izor) and couldn't find a spot in the pool so we went just below and was drift fishing. That fish weighed in at 42lbs at 46 inches (my personal best) and was the last & smallest of the 3 fish i hooked that day. I had 2 on that looked to be at least mid 50's, one was almost nickel bright and the other was a bit golden and i had hooked the second within 5 cast after losing the first. I spent about and hour and a half fighting those two losing both because i couldn't turn their head as they wanted to round the corner below the boat launch at barrier. After losing the second one i took about a half hour to rest because i was sore as heck and to give me buddy a chance to do some fishing since he was running the bank along with me waiting for a shot with the net. So i finally get off my butt when i see a few silvers hooked up and stepped back to my spot, a couple cast later i set the hook and immediately that fish got me for all but about 20 wraps of line on my reel (which he did to me a few more times during fight). When i finally got the fish into the frog water my hook was barely holding onto a little piece of skin off the front of his snout and my buddy made an amazing net shot to get him on the bank. Even though he wasn't the prettiest fish i've ever caught i whacked him because he was the biggest salmon i ever landed and was pretty sure ol' lady would call bs if i just told her about it. After i got him gutted i put up the rod and done for the day my back & arms were tore up. It was probly the craziest day on a river i've had so far and my buddy did manage a bright king hen about 18lbs.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

dont diss on sneakers as wading shoes, i have been doing it for years, tho only becuase i have found it about impossible to find find wading shoes under $100 in a size 16..

fear_no_fish - you have me serously considering muliteo, or possibley meadowdale beach trail, there is a decent spit i can gain some casting distance from.

I used to wear tenny runners in the river, they just suck for ankle support.
But I may find myself down there, the only thing with Muk. its a popular beach for non fisher people so more then likely you will have company. Off to the right though, near the ferry theres normally less people and its a pretty deep hole that normally has fish when we would troll through it.

last year I had a pair of boots blow out on the side and the only thing I had in the truck was a pair of Easton turf cleats for baseball. laced em up and quickly found out that as long as I wasnt in to nasty of mud the preformed better then my boots. That said i was not in a river with at on of snot like the cow. I ended up wearing those until they finally fell apart and didnt fall on my backside once. I should mention that they only lasted 5 trips, spendy shoes for 5 outings. Be nice to find some boots with similar tread patterns and general stickiness. Oh and far more comfortable!

Would not think of dissing a classic, like the tenny runner! So many jobs for such a simple, yet comfy foot garment. I was just curious what the bright white was on his feet! Could have been wading shoes for all I new. I have waded for crabs in everything from bare feet (da worst idea) to flip flops, plain socks, tennis shoes, hiking boots, and finally neoprene booties.

Wading shoes are to damn uncomfortable to wear, when not worn in conjunction with waders. Nothing keeps out the sand! And take way to long to dry. Leather dries with white, salty streaks.

Like I said " if the shoe fits, and its comfy.........wear it!". I have a few, thrift store purchased shoes in waiting for a outing of the wading kind.

The only reason I thought of bowling shoes, is maybe the soles would be good on snotty river bottoms. Unlike the rubber soled tenny.

"And walk away with some fresh caught hawgs"

Sounds like a scene out of "Hee Haw".

I would not be leaving the bowling ball bag at home! Never now when a make shift anchor is needed........LOL
