Is it legal to fish from a bridge?
I was at the Green River today jigging for chum (1/8) and heard talk of bridge fishing being illegal. Is this correct? I can't find any mention in the regs. BTW, I was near Kent and had luck only after using up all my roe and switching to a pink jig.

Nothing is mentioned in the WDFW regs. Any illegality (or legality) would probably be set forth in the local municipal code or whichever state/county/city operates the bridge.soundkite wrote:I was at the Green River today jigging for chum (1/8) and heard talk of bridge fishing being illegal. On the Duwamish they fish off the bridge at Habor island. WDFW sits and watches for the snaggers but has no problem with fishing off the bridge.

This brings up another point. How do people legally release fish at the Harbor Island bridge without pulling them out of the water?

I heard someone talking about getting a ticket for $247 for fishing off the 112th st walking bridge on the Duwaminsh. I don't know if he was full of it or not.

they typically pull them up then kick them back into the water, falling from 10-20 feet down. some die when they hit the water.soundkite wrote:This brings up another point. How do people legally release fish at the Harbor Island bridge without pulling them out of the water?
