Cowlitz B run and Springers

Post by DannyL » Sun Apr 06, 2014 9:53 am

I haven't seen many reports recently on the Cow. Must mean people are catching and don't wanna share. Anyone caught anything to write home about?

It's pretty good fishing right now. The guys on the bank and boats are doing great down there. Lots of fish killed.

I wouldn't call over 300 fish a week returning to barrier good fishing. But there are a few fish around.
Compared to what we're used to up here in Puget Sound, the fishing is world class. With around 800 fish TOTAL for the season on the Skykomish, you get used to working hard for fish. The Cowlitz is a breath of fresh air, with chances for big fish days.

I got the pleasure of fishing with Nate and his Father yesterday. We had a great trip! I lost a couple of fish ( my own fault) and we got that really nice Steel.

The fish are in, but the bank access is really, really crowded. I'm sure that Nate is getting pretty booked up, but if you get a chance, you should get ahold of him and schedule a trip. It is so stress free to drift and be able to fish the holes without a million of your closest friends casting next to you.

Nate will get you on the fish!

Plunked the lower Cow all day yesterday with my bud. Lotsa boats...weren't too many other bankers. There was something out there messing with our eggs here and there, but no solid takedowns. But the numbers will start increasing over the coming weeks. I'll get one.
