Re: Steelhead Pics & Reports 2015/2016
Finally was able to get out and get my first of the season. Nothing big, weighed 6lbs bled, but still feels nice to get a steelhead again.

Hello everyone my name is mike, and Im located in federalway. What river near me do you guys recomend to start trying for steelhead. This will be my first year targeting steel head. I just bought a new 10ft 6in rod g loomis just for float fishing. Ive been drifting corkie n yarn for pinks n silvers n chum for years now on a 8ft 6in rod. I always stop fishing right when the chums are soo beat up. This will be my first year trying for some winter fishing..... i kinda have no idea where to start..... i bought a bunch jigs in size 1/16th &1/8th. I also bought some beau mac floats in size 1/8th and 1/4th..... is that a good size float or is that too small?... any help 4 a steelhead noob would be much appreciated.

Re: Steelhead Pics & Reports 2015/2016
does no one catch the steelhats anymore or what, pretty dead thread
Re: Steelhead Pics & Reports 2015/2016
Haven't really seen many (actually any) caught by others while I've been out so far this season. Have hooked a couple myself though.

Re: Steelhead Pics & Reports 2015/2016
those loomis float rods are the real deal, quite a purchase for some one just getting into it lol. can never go wrong with nightmare pattern (white head, red body, black tail) or pink/white combos in 1/16 or 1/8oz. 1/4oz inline with a 15gram clear beau mac or clear drift float is money combo. also get some 4" pink worms and 1/8 oz pink or whitejig heads, its a great switch up bait when the fish have seen everything else. 10 or 12lb fluorocarbon leader will help toomik0n15@yahoo.com wrote:Hello everyone my name is mike, and Im located in federalway.
