I believe 8.2 is open for blackmouth, you'll need to check for sure on the WDFW site.

8-1, 8-2 and Marine Area 7 are open. 8-2 is fishing well with some very nice fish into the teens making their way into the box. 8-1 is on when you find bait. There can be some very respectable blackmouth available for those that know the 8-1 fishery. Both 8-1 and 8-2 are also open for winter crab so even if our bottom scratching salmon are not cooperating there is still a dinner waiting for you.

I'm safe, both boats and the truck are in the shop.

I do not make for a good landlubber. I get stressed, cranky and eat too much. Maybe there's a twelve step program, a help group or something I can sign up for!

Cool! Sounds healthy and normal to me! This is one of those nasty El Nino winters.

I know the feeling! With both boats being temparily out of commission I was going to drop the toon in Pass Lake and just like the bay it was a washing machine. I need a day on the water...

I saw this on Ifish. I don't think the guy would mind me posting the link. He is a Seattle area Blackmouth fisherman. Its a report on his experience in the recent Resurrection Derby in the San Juans.

I have run the strait many times crossing over from Anacortes, and a few of them were not great. That area can get bad in a hurry and test any seaworthy sailor.

Glad they were okay.
