Well, it was my best one from Lake Cassidy ever...17" then broke it next week 18.5". Both were first fish of the night and right after I got 18.5" got a 17" next cast. All on top water minnow.

Personal best smallmouth caught today, 3lb 6oz (also ties my best largemouth on the year).

New personal best! 3.0lbs on Lake Wapato during a wind storm at night. Used Reaction Innovations Smallie Beaver in watermelon on a 2/0 EWG with a 3/16oz bullet weight. Cast into the reeds against a shallow area with a rock face. The wind carried out a ton of line with it, and when I started to reel in he slack, I didn't notice that it had created a giant bird nest. As I checked the nest to see if it was salvageable, my rod got thumped hard and I set the hook. I threw my rod down on the deck and started reeling the fish in with my bare hands haha! Pulled it through the weeds and rocks, out from under the boat and around the prop, netted it, and when it got in the net, it spit the hook! Wow! I was laughing and having a blast the whole time. Got 3 new PBs that night. 2lbs 9oz, 2lbs 11oz, & 3lbs even. I'm hooked for sure now!

Way to land it! hand lining old school! hahaha. I remember My PB of 8lbs when i was 12 years old was wrapped around dock pilings and a latter screaming my dad to wake up and get the net! haha. you always remember those epic fights where you actually land the fish! keep it up!
