For god's sake let it go, there was water right underneath it.
I finally get into some good steelheading and all that happens is people start trowing out accusations.

It isn't going to kill a fish if it is out of the water for 2 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to stir the pot, but the reason that rule is in place is to reduce mortality. Fish aren't exactly built for being drug up the bank to be flopped around and handled and covered in sand....We are thankful for you posting pictures on this site. All I'm trying to say is that you are posting pictures that are showing illegal practices in Washington, and since you were posting them on a Washington website, your putting yourself into the mix to get some comments about it. I'm sorry if I my comments were offensive to you....

Derrick, Just edit out those pix that everyone is getting upset about and move on. They are great pictures and you had a great time. I'm sorry that you got jumped on. I can see their point, but it doesn't need to be a constant slamfest beating a dead horse.

I am very happy for you and the experience you had in catching steelhead which most anglers will never know. Like I said, I would just edit out the questionable pics.

For crips sake people let a dead horse lie. Did Derrick mess up with one maybe two fish, yes and every one pointed that out early on. Derrick should have said thanks for the constructive criticism and left it at that but he is young and defensive, been there done that. I think he gets it. GOOD job on the catching man. Nice and chrome. Nice to see you catch so many natives! Again for crying out loud people get over it and let it go, he/we get it!!

"Sparkey's Law" was promoted by an overzealous youngster (in my opinion). There's even some photos of him hoisting fish out of the water.

Regardless if any laws were violated or not, he stated the fish were released safely. This issue is literally "water under the bridge".

Derrick has made 386 posts on the site and has been a contributing member since last June. Let's not drill him anymore on any infractions he may have made.

Derrick, remove any questionable photos from your original post and let's move on.o:) If you have any questions on how to do that, send me a PM and I'll help if you like.

Post moved here, because we want to show that the practices were legal (out of Washington).

Those fish where hungry that day they would have bitten anything, one even followed my roe cluster in to shore.
Final stats at the end of the trip where,
me 3 hookups 3 landed (not counting spawners)
my dad 6 hokups 2 landed (not counting jacks)
a friend 1 hookup 1 landed

Nice fish Derrikk!
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
