Lund has always been one of my favorites.


I even owned a 16' model some years back and ran it around on Lake Erie and caught a whole bunch
of lake trout, walleye, and bass.

I can't remember the last time I caught a GOOD fish off the Coulon docks. Its been very slow down there this year for me.

That place I assume just gets too much pressure for any good fishing...Too many catch and keep fishermen at that dock that would keep those bass..

Morning gang... New to the site and looking forward to trading information. I fish year round, I fly fish and angle as well. My boat is a 21 foot Bayline cuddy for those long weekends on the lakes. Perfect for getting that float tube to the hiddend spots. Keep in touch.

Thanks, I had to go to Oregon to get the boat,saved me about a grand.Found the downriggers used for $500,added a bunch of little things and now I made a homemade potpuller(manual) for shrimping.

Lund 1800 Fisherman is my boat. It's powered with a 115 and an 8 hp yamaha. Got a pair of downriggers for trolling.

It's looking like an Alumaweld or a North River might join the Lund....

Anyone got any experience with any bigger Aluminum boats? I know Bodofish has his custom weld, but we are looking with something with a deep vee and something in the range of 20 feet with a 100+hp motor, kicker, and aluminum. Thought about going for glass like our old Campion 19', but figured aluminum would go better...It'll mainly be used for the saltwater (Area 9, 10, 8-2, Sekiu a few times a year, and some bigger lakes)

Anyone have any thoughts on these boats?
Boats we are considering:
Alumaweld: Blackhawk, Intuder, Stryker,
North River: SeaHawk 20'

We are still looking around at Hewescrafts, Weldcrafts, etc....

haven't completely ruled out glass though...

Wish I could help you,but after 17 ft my only experiences are in wood or fiberglass boats.

The North River Sea Hawk is a sweet boat. It's quality, costs a good amount of dough, but you get what you pay for...they come with the best engine on the market -- Yamaha...IMO. I also like the Grady White 17.5' Spirit...handsome boat...of course this is glass much like the Campion 19.'

Gradys are sweet boats. We are good friends with an owner of the Escape 209. What a heavy boat that thing is. Very nice looking too. Don't really like how it drives though.

Yamaha is what we are looking put on the boat.

North River's a bit more pricier then their main competition, the Alumaweld/Hewescraft....Will be going out to a bunch of dealers soon and checking them all out. New might be the way we go, but we might go for one that's a year or two, or three old if it saves us a lot of cash...
