Nice fish daniel. I think you need a new scale though. That top fish looks AT LEAST 5lbs.

I thought it was gonna go over 5lbs too. I checked my scale with others and 5lb weights and its dead on. O-well.

Hey I was at American yesterday and talked to a guy that said he knows/fishes with you. He said he recently bought a house on the lake. Don't remember his name but nice guy and and had nice things to say about you. See you our there some day!

I think this was in August or September but definitely 2007. Don't know how much it weighed. Shimano Compre and Daiwa Sweepfire (daughter's) Spinning reel on 6# Trilene XL mono and a Rapala DT6.

A little Jimmie Houston love with the same fish.

Here's another, caught with the Drop Shot.

Only one fish today, but it was a decent one. Cut the weight and tag end of the line off my drop shot rig and fished a wacky rig senko with the small gama hook. Got it in pretty shallow water. Man thats a fight on a light action DS rod. Water temp 52 at the most before we left. Fish went 2.5 lbs, sure looks bigger huh.

Nice chunk Chris. I can't believe that fish is 2.5.
That scale of yours is screwing you man.
Or maybe the fish was holding its breath:-&

Well this fish sure has a weird story behind it. I bet anyone my boat that this is a Trophy board size fish. My guesstimation is low 7 lbs, very close to beating my personal best of 7lb 5oz.
LLOOONNNGGG story, but I have no better pics or an official weight so it goes here !
2nd swimbait fish for me, and boy on the 10th or so cast of the day, you can't ask for anything better.
What a beauty, try to find a blemish on that fish, there wasn't one. Released to be caught again, hopefully by me. Thats a size 13 shoe, 13 inchs long for comparison.

I wear a size 13 too and I'm looking at my foot and saying "Dang that bass is almost twice the length of my Nikes!"
Nice fishy there ChrisB, gotta be prepared with a scale if you throwing big bass baits...

Oh trust me guys, I was prepared. I put it on the stringer, through the gills not poking a hole in his mouth, so I could buy more time to get my scale and camera ready. Taking pics by myself and all. She shook off the stringer while I wasn't looking, the clip barely closed to begin with the mouth was so big. It was on the stringer for less than 15 seconds, no joke. My mistake, I'll learn. lol It sure was fun though. 6 inch Hudd. VERY high 6lb range, low 7 possibly. Thanks for the props.

awesome catch and great story

:joker:

what ive found with anything above 5, you cant really judge it by its length anymore. anything below 5, you can be pretty accurate by looking at picture or the length. they dont get much longer after 5, they just get wider. you fish definately looks fat, so i would put it in the ball park of 6 - 7. we have compared alot of 5+ fish, and they dont have much difference in length, but their width makes the difference.

hold on for dear life next time, or by a third hand. atleast you got a pick though
