I was thinking of doing some still fishing at Horeshoe Lake in Pend Oreille Co.. I've heard corn works pretty good...my dad uses corn at Loon Lake when he fishes for them but he usually does it at night with glo hooks. Does anyone have any tips for still fishing.
I'll let you know I only have a 12' aluminum row boat with oars only and no fish finder hehe. That is until I get a job...graduating from a Respiratory Therapy program on 06/15!!!

Use a 0000 dodger or some other type of flasher backed with a wedding ring tipped with corn. To get the gear down try using a trolling weight w/bead chain. Rowing should be the right speed to troll.

Try using tiny shrimp that you can get in the meat section at the grocery store. Use this below a slip float so you can adjust the depth according to where the fish are. This has always worked for me on Riffe Lake.

I have some friends who handline at night on Chapman Lake. They say it works great but I think I'd prefer to use an ultralight rig.
Where you go is less important than how you get there.

I use maggots on a hook. Just load the a size 10 hook so with about 4 or 5 maggots on it. I fish for them at lakes that your allowed to chum. We use cream corn for the kokes. A depth finder really helps locating the schools
