Summertime Froggin!
After a great day this weekend on topwaters - I want to explore some new options for froggin!
What is your favorite frog lures? Scum Frogs? Jitterbugs? Boze Sumo? Rapala skitterpop frog? The legendary Furbit?
I need to make a run to restock on some topwater frogs - would love to hear some recommondations, and why you think they are so good!
I think we all know there is nothing better than watching a bass grab your frog! Now I want to use the best frog out there! Let the comments begin!

Trophy ScumFrog in white. White helps me see the lure better and resembles the belly of a frog when viewed from below.
RE:Summertime Froggin!
I like the scum frog. There use to be one called Frogzilla, can't remember who made it, but I did like the profile.
RE:Summertime Froggin!
If you're fishing around lots of exposed timber, you need one or two of these in your box - http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageSCT-SFTT.html
I need to order a few more, just stocked up on buzzbaits earlier today.

Haven't caught my share of frog fish over the years, but I like the R2Sea bully Wa frog. I have plenty of Spro's, and I had the bottom round plug fall out of one before it even caught a fish. My biggest frog fish was on a Horny Toad when I first tryed the zoom, 5.5 lbs from Sammamish.

Seems like the r2sea and spro are very similar!!!So as far as side by side do you have a opinion on the difference just asking?

You know, before I posted I had a mental note to try a Basirisky - the price is a little steep (Wife, newborn and me on a single salary) but I normally don't mind a few extra bucks if it is a well made lure.Basstradamus wrote:Basirisky in black..but if your cheap. Spro Bronze eye in black!
I like the profile, the backward legs, just haven't seen the action. Looks like I'll be trying one in black!
RE:Summertime Froggin!
ive been feelin the "walkability" of the snag proof perfect frog lately.
RE:Summertime Froggin!
The R2Sea has a keel shape on the bottom, which makes it kinda different. I haven't used the SPRO yet this year, but i think the R2sea may be a tad easier to walk. It has a weird string wrapped around the line tie, looks cheesy but hasn't came apart yet.SPARKY101 wrote:Seems like the r2sea and spro are very similar!!!So as far as side by side do you have a opinion on the difference just asking?
After reading BPM's fav and looking it up, the internal rattle sounds very cool. :study:

Believe it or not...THE BANJO MINNOW FROG HAS GREAT ACTION. It is actually the only top water plastic frog I have used. It has good action in the water.

Last time I went to the Deps website and the tacklewarehouse website they had videos of the Basirisky in action. You should check them out. The videos made me want to give it a try, so I picked up one.PaulReilly wrote:You know, before I posted I had a mental note to try a Basirisky - the price is a little steep (Wife, newborn and me on a single salary) but I normally don't mind a few extra bucks if it is a well made lure.Basstradamus wrote:Basirisky in black..but if your cheap.
