I received this info when inquiring about purchasing a BL resident launch card from City Hall. Thought I’d pass it along.
"The boat launch will be open to use at your own risk on
6/13/07. Until the lake is completely filled ( July 1st ?) the new gate
system will not work. When the gate (bollards) is blocking the boat launch, this will mean
your card will be needed at the boat launch pay station to access the
water."

RE:Lake Tapps - Allan York Boat Launch
Hey Dilbert,
thanks for that info...wonder though if you could find out from City Hall if...since it has taken sooooooo long for the lake to be filled and I'm sure now that Bonney Lake City Hall will definately whine, piss and moan about again losing money at this launch. Are they going to allow the lake to be left open for longer than the normal time for fisherman and recreational use? This way they might be able to gain back some of the lost revenue from past years...And also ask if they are going to lower the launch fees. Reason being the cost of launching at the Pierce County park is only $10.00..Now the launch cost is 17 bucks at Allen York which is a higher increase than should be allowed according to the law...Thanks...or just PM me with the phone number and I'll just ask them myself and post the info for everyone.

hey Dilbert,
Bonney Lake is wrong....!! Just sayin..I have only paid $10.00 to launch with parking included. That is all, all I ever paid. Paid the high school girl working in the wooden booth at the gate. Bonney Lake is uninformed and from what I understand..is lying and ripping people off! Not arguing with you... just telling you.I appreciate your info though that will help. You are correct on the Allan York fees though.. a rip off there. Thanks, Todd

RE:Lake Tapps - Allan York Boat Launch
The city is on my list right now too. Since my 13' boat (9.8hp outboard) doesn't require registration for use on non-federal waters, the city wants me to provide them with documentation of its length to prove that it meets the no-registration requirement before they'll sell me a launch season pass. Also, I have to bring in the boaters guide that mentions the registration exemption. It's a 24 year old boat and they want me to track down sales paperwork to prove its length? Fun times.
