I just got my 2009 The Fly Shop catalog and saw these fire tip sili legs, that I have seen on
flys you can buy in the store. Well now I have found a source for the material to tie my own.
Just wondering if any one out there uses these legs, and what color they prefer. They have
like 8 colors.:colors:

RE:Fire tip sili legs
I've used the orange, green, and black legs. If I want a little more "life" on the fly than the dubbing can provide I use the rubber legs. They may not help much but they don't hurt anything either.

I'm seriously going to get into tying some rigs. Hope I can get some advice now and then.

You can always post questions here. Lots of folks here "roll their own".Carl762 wrote:I'm seriously going to get into tying some rigs. Hope I can get some advice now and then.
Another GREAT source of info is FAOL. From the main page, select "Fly Tying" from the menu on the left. From there you can select beginning, intermediate, or advanced.
They have tons of illustrated instructions that are superb. I own several books, but I've learned more from FAOL than any book.
Good luck!
