I ordered the perch pattern, and it is MUCH darker than it shows on websites where you order it. Instead of a very subtle perch coloring, you instead get a very dark green back, green sides and distinct, deep black stripes. For me this is somewhat of a plus because it more closely mimics the colors of the perch I see around here. The website coloring looks more like a half digested perch that a smallmouth spits up whne you get it to the boat.
Lastly, the extra tungsten balls are not in the bait when you get it, which doesn't make much sense to me. To insert them, you have to remove a metal rod from one of the sections of the bait, which is blocking a small circular hole in the bait. This is probably similar to the larger Tru Tungsten swimbaits but I've never used them so i don't know. Anyways, this rod not only keeps the tungsten weights in place, but it also goes through 2 metal loops that keep the head of the bait attached to the body. The rod snugs in there pretty tight, but I must admit I'm not overly thrilled that a straight rod that could potentially slide out is all thats keeping my bait from being a $20 swimbait or a headless paperweight. Like I said it's pretty snug but I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye on it while fishing to make sure it doesn't ever start sliding out.
