i have a shakespeare dimension lo profile baitcaster, and it refuses to reel. i think a bearing might be out of place, but if anyone has this reel, i would appreciate it if they would help me out.

You may want to contact Shakespeare, I am sure their customer service would be helpful in at least pointing you in a direction. I have the same reel but knock on wood I have not had any issues with it.
'course they don't have biscuits and gravy ... but if they did, I bet everyone would eat there.

It is the magnetic cast control and the knob on the right side is the spool tension.

Bass Pro Shops has a reel repair service they use. They have always been inexpensive for me, and they will usually answer questions like this over the phone.

Call Bass Pro Shops Customer and ask for the number to their reel repair service. It is a private company, but again, when I used them in the past there were top notch.

TAS,..if I were you I'd just trash the the reel and look at Tacklewharehouse-Cabelas-BassProShops-Monster,..for a good deal on a Baitcasting set-up,..there's allot of sales right now so it's a good time to buy,..just look around online,..stay away from the cheaper models,..the more bearrings the better the reel and the length of your rod is up 2 you,..depending on what type of Bassin you want 2 do,..but definately upgrade your gear before Bassin gets hot! JMHO!

On the spool it self make sure your fishing line is not inside the real. I have found that some bait casters you have to use larger line to keep this from being a prob.
Are you hung up again!
