Ill have to say that the sharing of ideas here has slowed down over the last year.

Ive found that the best example of a fishing site that lets everyone get a slice is BloodyDecks, but they are strictly offshore.

Here, Ill step the hell up here and prove that we can all make this place a wealth of knowledge, because there are plenty of fish out there for everyone.

GPS:

47.51.134 N
117.39.639 W

A departed neighbor's favorite bass fishing hole on Long lake. Has produced some piggish largemouth.

How's that for putting some info out?

People may hesitate to share details for various reasons -- especially in the public forums.

Keep in mind that discovering what works, and what doesn't work, usually takes lots of time, effort, and creativity. The same is true when it comes to discovering the best spots to fish. Personally, I don't mind sharing inside information with a few people, but hesitate to post it for "general consumption".

I've also learned (the hard way) that relying on advice from an untrusted source can be detrimental. You know what they say: Opinions are like a$$holes -- everybody's got one, and most of them stink. :pale:

This thread will show two kinds of people:

1) The ones who want to be successful

2) The ones who want everyone to be successful

The way I see it is the more people catching fish and learning the right way and ethics the better the sport is. Our $ pays to keep the fishing available for our kids. People don't keep fishing if they can't catch fish.

what about:

3) The ones who want some to be successful

its never a level playing ground, no matter how you see it. everyone has to push and claw to get somewhere... and to some others, angling is a job. do you really see some people giving up their job for another angler?

If you don't want to help every one don't post. Why only help 1 I don't think that is what Mike/Aaron created this site for.

im quite sure they built this site for many reasons, and that maybe one of them. ive done my fair share of work on this site, and alot of its not on the forums itself. you dont necessarily need to post to help on this site.

so are you to say you are friends with everyone, and will give the shirt off your back to anyone who knocks at your door. so if ask a specific question on a particular forum, that you know the answer to, are you saying you will answer this question?

ive seen alot of people come an go from this site. there are some who feel this site is great, and some who will feel other wise.

Dude, don't get personal. #-o

I DO share information. I've also sent a few tips via PM that I did NOT post in the public forum. And yes, there are a few things that I keep to myself.

Why do you think it should be "all or nothing"? Very few things in life are black and white. One of the ways I gauge a persons maturity level is by observing the number of absolute words they use. For example, my teenage daughters frequently use the words "always" and "never", which is typical for that age group.

I expect more from adults...
