Just came from Sportsmans Warehouse in Federal Way. I guess are meeting is so popular
that our flyers are disappearing. Not to worry though...new stack on hand and the store manger was nice enough
to offer putting some at the customer service desk under the protective glass.

See you all at the meeting

Your right..the toys are for us. I'll have to showoff a few new baits that I'm testing out.
I guess I can show them but the trick is to apply the baits and catch something...This might be a problem
for me.:-$

Congratulations to Cascade Musky Association and its members for a successful inaugural meeting. It was a pleasure to attend and see all of you again.

There is plenty of room for another musky club in Washington State. Each has a slightly different program emphasis, allowing anglers to choose the organization that best satisfies their individual needs, and join a group they feel comfortable with. In fact, we really need a third musky club, on the eastside, to serve musky anglers on the other side of the state.

In the future, it will be important for the clubs and their members to work together for our common interests. While continued stocking and WDFW's tiger musky program appear secure for now, it may not always be so. It's likely there will be issues or projects too big for one club to tackle alone. I strongly encourage both organizations and their memberships to avoid rivalry and develop a culture of cooperation within the musky angling community, because this will define how successful we are in maintaining and improving the fishery.

I also want to remind everyone that, as the member of IFPAG (WDFW's freshwater fisheries advisory board) representing muskies and the musky angling community, I'm appointed by the director of WDFW, not a club, and I represent the entire muskie community, not one club. I'm your voice on IFPAG and everyone is welcome to contact me about anything having to do with the tiger musky fishery. Over the last two years, we've developed a reputation within WDFW as an energetic and dynamic group, and we enjoy a high-profile presence.

By the way, if you haven't sent a letter and check to the "Save-A-Warden Fund" yet, please do so now -- even if it's only $1 or just a letter -- because the Legislature is in session, the budget is being written, and we want to send a message that we don't want any cutbacks in enforcement of fish and game laws! I want to see the WDFW brass take a whole sack of mail over to the legislative hearings and tell those legislators, "Look, the public is sending us money and telling us they don't want any game wardens cut from the budget!" Remember what Murphy's Law, Section 28(c), says: "Nobody's life, liberty, or property is safe while the Legislature is in session!" So, get those letters in the mail, our activism does make a difference!

Also, if anyone knows a legislator who is supportive of fishing and the military, and is willing to sponsor our plan to have the state buy free fishing licenses for active duty military personnel, please let me know! You can send me a PM through Washingtonlakes or e-mail me directly at dwitt546@aol.com.

Thanks again Don for representing our musky fishery at IFPAG, and I am glad to hear you were able to attend the 1st CMA meeting. With all the great WDFW, IFPAG and dual members coming together our musky fishery will prove to be the best tiger fishery in the country. I wouldn't be suprised if we could back that up with statistics in the next year or so!

I am curious to see how many letters - don't care about dollar amount - the WDFW has reveived concerning the Save A Warden Fund? Any way you could find out? Also, how much time do we still have? I want to revisit this issue on other websites and it helps to throw out some numbers when you want people to act.
