Palomar knots for hooks and swivels will probably be your best knot for braid.motorek wrote:For river fishing I would use Berkley thermalfilmet, it is not braided line. For lake or distance casting Power pro because is thiner in diameter and softer. The disadvantage of power pro is that it is very sensitiv for curb effect in the knot. The only situation I know for 100% knot is to tying PP using UNI knot to tie it directly to hook or lure. For example if you are gonna tie 15 lb test pp with leader line 20 lb, total strenght may be about 8 lb. I made such test at home tiying line to digital scale and pooling. The berkley line is bigger in diameter, stiffer, but knot very friendly.

Palomar is 95% plus very non-slip, #1 braid knot.curado wrote:six turn San diego jam might be better it has 92%more knot streangth but the palamar is great too and is one of my favs for salmon and steelhead
For those interested in knots, their applications, and how to tie(not the best illustrations):

A bait caster for silvers< oh yeah. I use mine for fishing in the sound and fish it in the fall when they migrate up the creeks to spawn. I use 15 pound test and have only broken one fish off in many years. It's no sin to use what you have, just use common sense and don't pay out all your line at once. leave a little for the fight.
If you aren't catching fish it's becasue you don't have a hook in the water!

12 pound is all you need for silvers
