How's The Fishing At Lake Tapps?

Post by FishingFool » Sun Jun 28, 2009 9:32 pm

I didnt realize just how big it is, until I looked at the lake online.

Never been there. How's the crowd on the weekdays? Hoping to head out there on Tues early afternoon or so to target some SMB and maybe if we're lucky some LMB.

Plan on launching from the county park. How much is it there? Nice and open for a noob to launch? :-"

it is a large lake and you can get lost if you don't know the lake. There are several nice areas around the launch that you can spend an entire day fishing without venturing away too far. Take a right out of the launch and fish all along that shoreline to the dike and then over to the next cove. You're more than likely going to hook up with smallies, rockbass, carp, suckers, perch and if you're really lucky, a muskie. The traffic on the lake doesn't get too bad during the week until around 3 or so. Good luck and make sure you have all the legal essentials on your boat as the cops are out there in force and will pull you over just to check if you've got the appropriate items. Have fun and be safe.

in case anymore is wondering, its $15 to launch at the park. Today was a bust. I would like to blame it on the weather...... but it's probably the fishermen.:-"

Boat traffic, very busy by noon!

And the legal stuff.

Lifejacket, audio device, boat/trailer info, and boaters card if required.
