black friday at cabelas?

Post by ckim85 » Mon Nov 09, 2009 2:49 pm

does anyone know if Cabelas down in Lacey is planning on having a big black friday sale this year? I have a number of things I'm interested in buying but only if its on sale.

Im not certain if they are or not, but they have a killer deal on wader liners. cabelas brand 440 weight fleece pants with the sturups so they dont ride up when you put your waders on. Reg price 34.99 online price 9.99 If you go instore you have to tell them you want the online price and theyll do it. The pants are nice soft and warm. Anyone that jumps in the river may want to think about this deal.

I hope so. I have a 3xl Cabela's Spectrum Dry Plus jacket that I've worn about 5 times and is now way too big for me after all the weight loss. I need a new one and hope that they have the BF sale. I would also love to find someone who is looking for a like new 3xl very nice jacket for $75 bucks. I paid $150. for it last year.

That is just plain old deceitful and downright sleazy. I'm certain that Dave has more character than that. Returning it would imply he wasn't happy with it and that just isn't case. Didn't your parents teach you right and wrong?

Bodo, didnt your parents teach you that if you dont have anything nice to say you shouldnt say anything at all? :thumright

Sweet, thanks for the tip on the pants. Ordered myself a pair (on backorder, so we'll see if it comes through).

BTW, if you guys are wanting to look for deals on Black Friday you can check out the SlickDeals.net Black Friday forum. There's some serious bargan hunters on that site, scarry almost.

looks like Cabelas is having $30 off any purchases over $150. Not the most mindblowing deal but its like you get tax and shipping off.

They're warming up for moving a lot of gear between now and the first of the year. I've been getting and email ad at least once a day for the last three weeks and two to three fliers in the mail. Strike while the iron is hot!

Oh and for those of you who do indiscriminant returning; like buying something you know you're only going to use once and returning it or any of those other slimy ticks, Cabela’s now uses a third party loss prevention company to track all returns. If your return is deemed not worthy you get your name in the data base with all the shoplifters, bad check writers and other fraudulent shoppers. Along with that special distinction comes many perks, I'm sure you all can think of a few.

Im starting to realize that Bodo is the bringer of bad news. Nothing personal intended Bodo, you just seem to have an over abundence of bad news on your hands. And to all that I was able to help out with the wader pants, no problem at all. Little deals like that should be passed on for others to take in. The way things are going right now we all need a deal every now and again.

I'm not some much a bringer of bad news but merely pointing out signs of the times. Cabela’s made a reputation on taking care of their customers, their very liberal exchange and return policy was at the fore front. As they've begun to build their local retail presents in a number of areas, of course the low lives in the areas have found another hand out. Most of us long time good customers will pay the price for Cabela's taking care of us in making sure all our purchases were just what we wanted. Once they opened their local retail stores they became a haven for shoplifters, check writers and returners, easy money. Return policies like this have been on the decline for a number of years at big names like Macy's and Nordstrom’s because of the fraudulent members of our society taking advantage. It doesn't surprise me one bit that Cabela's is taking steps to protect themselves. In the end, who pays for all this? We do the, the honest patrons that have benefited from the support of these stores.

So in the future when you hear someone say they're going to Nordstrom’s or Macy's to buy a dress to go to a party because they can just return it. Say something, it's not right. When someone has worn the treads right off their waders and they say "no big deal, I'll just return them for a new pair.", say something, it's not right. It's you and me that are paying for their free ride.

Lets take the high road.

PS always apreciate the tip on a sale!!!!

I agree. If you buy a coat when you're fat, then lose weight, then try to return the coat while saying, "It isn't what I wanted". THAT is fraud! The person should be TOTALY ASHAMED of himself. Bet the police would have the same answer, ask them.

Well back to topic....I just got back from Cabela's in Lacey to purchase the Wader Liners regularly priced at 34.99. My suggestion if you are going to purchase this item, to go to Cabela's website and print up the lowered price before you go there. This will save you time from having a manager come over, blah blah.
