If you are referring to the Fish lake in Okanogan County I would say Do Not Attempt. We have had a major thaw here for over two weeks and all Ice is very iffy. Middle of the lake ice may be ok, but shorelines are now water. Roads are real crappy also. Serious thaw and run-off problems on unimproved roads. I drove from Loomis to Conconully two days ago. during the outhouse races people run snowmobiles through there and packed it into ice, but thawing fast. Probably 3" of muck underneath in the good spots.

I was up at Fish lake (Chelan County)a couple of weeks ago and the ice was running well over 12"
We've been having spring weather for the last few days. Today's forcast in this area is a high of 48 degrees and it looks like the forcast is high 30's low 40's for the next few days.
Here's a Fish lake Daily Time Lapse Movie web cam so that you can check for yourself:

I dont have info about ice depth, but I do have a deadly tecnique as the ice just breaks! Fish Lake, Chelan Co, the minute
you can get a boat on the lake, Im talkn very cold lots of snow on the ground. Fish out of cove out and around shoreline
casting Rapala F-11, black back\ silver, blue back\ silver, casting at shoreline and rippn the bait fishing fast. 5 lb BROWNS
this tecnique lasts for a short period. Ive also had good luck with it on lake Wenatchee. Just think you're goin for bass.
Caught many huge Browns doin this, its a proven tecnique!

Don't mess around with all kinds of different speculation... Go straight to the horses mouth:

These have been long guarded secrets that probably shouldn't have been shared! Speculation?......
We surely didnt tell the cove or anyone else , these are ice out tecniques that are proven,
give it a try rather than depending on " dock talk" from the horses mouth.

Spindog, I think we misunderstood each other. The original post by Fishingboy was asking if there was enough ice to fish safely. I was just telling him that if he wanted to know the amount of ice, he could call the people who are standing at the lake. That's all.

You do this out and around the point which protects the cove, were the docks are, continue along shoreline into that end of
lake. If your on the docks looking out onto the lake this would be going along to your left.

I've done that mid summer on the right side going away from the cove and have had luck with bass. Never Browns. I used the "brown trout" rapala for my success. I will be interested in trying it out. Thanks for the info. I have some smaller rapalas.. I believe F-7's, Im hoping those will work too!

Is the perch fishing there worth anything? I would love to get back on the ice after Spokane has been hit with spring-like temperatures.

I will be looking for the report. It was nice meeting you at the show!
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

i was there on saturday the 6th i did not make it over the week before, the ice was still good and by the looks of it we may have about 3 more weeks of good ice if the weather stays the same. hopefully it gets cold again and we keep what we do have. again this lake is a perch factory with alot of ppl catching perch i heard rumors that there are some big browns up on the far end of the lake so noext time out there im heading all the way to the other end for a chance at a bigger fish then the perch. any way have a great time and be safe.

it was 7 inches of really good black ice covered by about 8 inches of white ice or stratified ice i would say it was marginal i did not have a issue with it and i feel safe to say it should be fishable for at least another 3 weeks unless it gets 80 over there. but today it was again cold for the mornig so that is a great news. once you drill the holes the water goes back down the hole so that to me means the lake is still not recieving to much water and the pressure is good. i hope this helps and have a great time..

just catch alot and it will be worth it.
