i'm not much for spending my holidays (or many other days for that matter) around alot of people jockeying for fishing space or dodging boats, so bubba and i chose armstrong for a peaceful days fishing. we got a late start (1000) and there were only 2 or three other boats on the lake. it was great! i hooked up with this guy in the pic about 1030 trolling a wedding-ring type gizmo i got at a garage sale for 50 cents. he was 17". after an hour or so of trolling and not getting any more fish in the boat, we tried the usual 'honey hole' to no avail. we alternated between still fishing all around the lake and trolling after that. all the bites we got were trolling and bubba landed another keeper (14") about 1530. those were the only 2 fish we took home. it was a fine day of peace and quiet and fishing. ***NOTE*** i have to mention that we came accross alot of trash on the ground around the boat ramp area and spent all of maybe 5 minutes picking it up. to pick up after yourself takes less than that! COME ON PEOPLE, respect our resources so we can all enjoy them in the future.
