A buddy of mine who lives near Raymond .calls me up outa the blue and say's we gotta hit loomis lake .with the storm comming in i told him he was NUT'S so we get to Ilwaco at 0430 sunday. we found the lake to be Full of nasty overgrown weeds. put on my belly boat and hit the water @ daybreak.was at the north end of the lake .pouring down in buckets ,sideways rain with the wind at gusts to 25 mph. it was MISERABLE. But I GOT BITES ON ALMOST EVERY CAST !
i was using a 1/4 oz green buzz bait with double gold willow leaf blades. i landed 6 fish in the 1.5 to 3 lbs range in less than an hour . my buddy Rick caught and relesed about twice that many on a green Mister Twister Hawg Frawg . it was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive from Olympia. I think Ill be there next saturday when the sun rises.
