I decided to celebrate Columbus Day by spending some time on the water. It was my first time out on Cottage Lake. Put in about 8:30 AM at the park and was immediately greeted by 3 deer on the shore of a nearby private residence. (These are the things that make getting outdoors special.)
The water temp was 59 degrees. There was a ton of milfoil in the shallows and my hook seemed to find every bit of it. After about 30 minutes I caught a nice 3 lb LMB in about 12 feet of water with a black Senko. After fishing for another hour with no results I needed to call it quits - things to do back home. But the beautiful morning, the deer and that one fish made this short trip all worth while.
