Started out at Potholes reservoir where i spent most of the day fishing and it really stank. The water was nasty(constantly cleaning lures of debris). The last hour an a half of the day i decided to give Corral a try since it's just on the other side of O'sullivan dam.Now i had heard they rehabbed this lake from some, and that it had not been rehabbed from others so i decided to give it a look at for myself. As i entered the main part of the lake i marked a few fish near the bottom so i used my lead core set up out with a #5 black pearl- glass shad rap out 2 colors.I trolled all over the lake without so much as a strike.I saw one other boat out there and they informed me that they had caught a couple of decent size trout pulling crankbaits.I continued trolling around the lake without so much as a tap or anything. My next approach was to ditch the lead core and slap my plug on my spinning rod and long line it.I trolled as close to edge as i could without getting hung up on the bottom paying close attention to drop off points. This is what usually works for me here, and low and behold it did.Just as I was about to hang it up, a 22 inch 4 lb rainbow inhaled my shad rap and put up a nice ten minute battle before succumbing to the net.So i guess i shoulda spent the day here instead of potholes res.
