Fished Goodwin for close to 3 hours on what was a nice day while I was thinking of going and driving to the Lake. Got windy but still not a bad day. Tried for some Crappies with a couple different jigs. Don't know if the fish finder was finding crappies or perch or small bass, but I was marking small fish midway down in 8 feet of water off the docks. Not even a nibble. Couldn't see them either, so maybe the fish finder is cheap. That is possible.

after an hour of switching up gear for them and that included crawlers, I moved out to 22 feet of water and caught 2 12 inch trout on lime green power bait. One other guy out there was anchored in 22 feet of water, I was driftin. I had a few other bites but I just fed them some power bait and moved on.

Found all those fish and caught the two rainbows on the opposite side of the boat ramp.

Right before I called it a day went off the state park and fished with some plastic grubs for the smallies but fish finder didnt see them and the lures certainly didnt find them.

Still beats work. I was thinking of giving Lake Campbell a try again up by Deception pass next. Just looking for fish, finding some, just not really setting the world on fire when it comes to catching them right now. Oh well, as it warms up so will I.

Water temp was 54.9 degrees and believe it or not there was 2 water ski boats out, 1 wave runner and only 2 people fishing. This lake ought to be a whole lot of fun come June. I am convinced this lake holds a great day of fishing somewhere around the corner. Hopefully that day arrives before the mass herd of wave runners and speed boats find the weather enjoyable.
