New format, eh? Great!! The BBs of BL arrived at Fishtrap to continue our Opening Day Tradition of campfire smoke wafting in the air as we launched A NEW BOAT (the other BB of BL's pride-and-joy).
BAITS THAT WORKED: Maggot-tinis
TYPE(S) OF FISH THAT WERE CAUGHT: 3 Rainbow trout, of which 2 were the Sumo-wrestler Triploid variety (biggies)
7 Silvers, 10" to 12"
TIME OF DAY: "Before 6:00..."
LOCATIONS ON THE LAKE: The fish were biting withing yards of the boat launch! The west side of the lake, moving south, were the areas we patrolled.
CONDITIONS OF THE WATER: 52 to 54 degrees; murky in places with lots of aquatic debris floating.
DEPTH: Fished at 10' depth; fish at varying depths
LURES USED: Wedding rings (the Studebaker of fishing lures, seems to work consistently here...)
BOAT SPEED: Fast enough to catch fish?
WEATHER CONDITIONS: T'weren't rainin'...
NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE ON THE LAKE: Thousands (or so it seemed)
It is fun to fish opening day at Fishtrap. One issue is with the dorks that have to dump their garbage onto the lake. Pop cans, paper bags--- only maggots that drown bait do that.
Thanks to: Those campers that put that great smoky smell into the air near the boat launch. Also: Thanks, WDFW!!
